Study Buddies Finishes Another Successful Year of Sports and Mentoring

The Gonzaga Hockey program wrapped up its seventh season of Study Buddies last week.

Started in 2012 by former Gonzaga hockey parent Deana Hally and her son, Bobby ’14, Study Buddies is a weekly mentoring and tutoring program that partners players from all three Gonzaga hockey teams with students from Cornerstone School in Southeast DC.

Once a week during hockey season, students from Gonzaga and Cornerstone, which serves children in grades K-12, spend time doing homework, playing games, and having snacks together at Fort Dupont Ice Arena.

Check out this great photo from Gonzaga Hockey’s Instagram, when the team had the chance to share their MAPHL trophy with the kids they had worked with and gotten to know throughout the season:

Additionally, the final rankings from the Washington Post list Gonzaga as number one for the 2018-2019 season!  Congratulations to Gonzaga Hockey on another fantastic year.

Hail Gonzaga!
