Soccer Edges Paul VI, Senior Day Up Next

The varsity soccer Eagles defeated Paul VI on Tuesday, October 9 in a tight match, 2-1. Paul VI came out firing on all cylinders and managed to slip a goal through in the first half but once things settled down, Gonzaga took control. Brady Young '20 delivered a corner kick which bounced around in the goal area until Ryan Elie '20 smashed it in. Minutes later, Sebastien Tabash '19 was tripped in the box and Elie converted the penalty to put the Eagles up for good.

While the second half did not see any scoring, Senior Matt McHenry made a crucial save on a penalty kick, ensuring the Eagles' win. Gonzaga improved to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in WCAC play.  The team is back in action on Tuesday, September 16 vs Carroll at 3 PM for Senior Day.
